You love both your parents and want nothing more than to want to have relationship with them, but feel burned every time you are around them
You know that they need to set some boundaries, but find it difficult because you love your parents, and you want to be a good daughter to them
You struggle to trust others, especially in romantic relationships, and fear that what happened with your parents will happen to you
A SUPPORT GROUP CAN HELP
A peer support group can be the first step towards coping with all of these issues and more. With the help of a peer support group, you can:
Experience the relief of being able to share your story with others who truly understand the burden of a cheating parent
Learn new options for how to interact with your family after your parent’s affair comes to light in a way that feels both authentic and safe for you
Gain a deeper understanding of any issues that you may have from the infidelity that are affecting your current relationships, especially romantic ones
Adopt new strategies to move on with your life and build the career and healthy relationships that you desire regardless of how your parents handle themselves
Next Group begins in OCTOBER 2024
Beginning on October 1, 2024, I will host a Virtual Peer Support Group for young adult women (ages 18-30) coping with a parent’s affair or infidelity. Here are the details:
Tuesdays (10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19) from 7:00 pm-8:15 pm EST
Virtually over Zoom, participate from anywhere
Each group session will include a mix of education, self-reflection, and sharing your story
Group will be limited to 8 women to maximize connection and time to share
Cost: $200 for all 8 sessions, payable in advance. Includes sessions as well as downloadable copies of all education materials shared in group.
I have many years of experience leading groups for teens and adults in both educational and therapeutic settings. While everyone will be encouraged to only share at the level they are comfortable with, we will have cameras on. I take very seriously the importance of CONFIDENTIALITY and nurturing a SAFE SPACE for sharing what I know is a sensitive and painful experience.
